After five years’ application and success in the trademark dispute with National Semiconductor Company (NSC), the registration of “NATIONALCHIP” is finally approved by The State Administration for Industry and Commerce (CTMO). The winning of NationalChip shows increasing attention on intellectual property protection of Chinese companies. 

The milestones of the application of NATIONACHIP:

10 September, 2007: Filed NATIONALCHIP application;

14 August, 2009: Refused because of similarity of ”National” brand by Matsushita Corporation;

11 September, 2009: Filed application for trademark re-examination;

13 December, 2010: Passed preliminary validation and entered public notice period;

14 March, 2011: Raised objection by NSC;

18 September, 2012: Finally approved by CTMO.
